Providing Solutions Rooted in Science

Medical massage therapy is an umbrella term that represents particular training and skills held by the therapist to manage pain and discomfort with certain pathologies. Our medical massage therapists’ special area of expertise is providing manual lymphatic drainage and post-op massage care to those who have undergone plastic, reconstructive, and orthopedic surgery. We also specialize in treating chronic pain associated with pregnancy, cancer, autoimmune disorders, headaches, and postural deficiencies. While our approach is clinical, we deliver care in a tranquil, holistic atmosphere that blends medical expertise with spa-like comfort.

Message from the Owner

Debbie Dugan, LMT, CLT, PTA

When I began my journey in medical massage in 2006, working alongside a pioneering plastic surgeon in San Diego, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of therapeutic touch in post-surgical healing. This surgeon was among the first to advocate for lymphatic drainage after mastectomy and plastic surgery procedures – at a time when there were still many questions and concerns about massage in medical settings. Could patients safely receive massage during cancer treatment? After major surgery? While pregnant? With medical devices in place?

Over my twenty-year career, I’ve watched with excitement as research and patient experiences have answered these questions with a resounding “yes” – massage therapy is indeed safe and beneficial for most medical conditions when provided by properly trained, confident, and competent therapists. This understanding has shaped the very foundation of Via Medical Massage and our mission to bridge the gap between massage and medicine. Our providers aren’t just massage therapists – they’re skilled clinicians trained to work with complex medical conditions, collaborating closely with healthcare teams to support optimal patient outcomes. I believe deeply in creating a future where massage therapists have a permanent seat at the healthcare table, recognized as vital partners in patient care. My vision for Via Medical Massage is to be more than just Nebraska’s premier medical massage provider – we aim to be a trusted wellness resource and an integral part of our community’s healthcare landscape, empowering each client with the support and information they need to heal and thrive.
